Refund Policy

If something is not quite right, please use our Returns & Exchanges Portal to manage your return or exchange.


UK Returns & Exchanges

You have 30 days from the date on which the goods were received to return or exchange an item. 

If you are a UK customer, you also have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving any reason.

All UK returns and exchanges are arranged through our Returns & Exchanges Portal.

For the festive period we extend our usual 30 days returns window. All orders placed between 1st November and 24th December can be returned until 24th January.

Items must be unworn, unwashed, free from odour, and in original condition with packaging and tags intact. Returns that do not meet these requirements may not be accepted.

How to return or exchange (UK)

  1. Repackage your items securely. Make sure all tags and packaging are intact.
  2. Start your return or exchange in our Returns & Exchanges Portal and follow the steps.
  3. Send your parcel. Generate a Royal Mail label or QR code, then drop off at your local Post Office or Royal Mail Customer Service Point. Exchanges and refunds to credit are free. For standard refunds a £3.95 fee will be deducted. Please keep your proof of postage.

Always include your order number inside or on your parcel - this helps us process your return as quickly as possible.

Refund and exchange options

  • Exchanges: Free.
  • Refund to credit (gift card): Free. Gift cards issued from returns are valid for 6 months.
  • Refund to original payment method: £3.95 return shipping fee deducted, unless your full UK order was originally shipped using a premium delivery service, in which case this fee will not be deducted.
  • Faulty or incorrect items: Returned free of charge for a full refund.

UK delivery charges on full returns: If your order used our paid standard UK delivery service, we will refund the original standard delivery charge of £3.95 when the order is returned in full. If your order qualified for free standard delivery, there is no original delivery charge to refund.

If your order used a premium UK delivery service and is returned in full, we do not deduct our usual £3.95 return shipping fee from your refund. This is how we currently account for the standard delivery refund through our returns system.

Partial returns: Delivery charges are only refundable where an order is returned in full. For partial returns, delivery costs are non-refundable.

Returns are normally processed within 10 working days of arrival at our warehouse. Processing may take longer during busy gifting periods such as January. A confirmation email will be sent once your return or exchange has been processed.

If you are cancelling your order under your legal rights, any refund due will be made in line with applicable consumer law.

Why is there a fee?

Managing returns has a cost for both the environment and our business. The small £3.95 fee on standard refunds helps us reduce unnecessary returns and keep prices fair for everyone. Exchanges and refunds to credit remain free so you can shop with confidence.

Refunds are made to your chosen method: either a British Attire gift card (free) or your original payment method. For standard refunds, a £3.95 return shipping fee applies unless your full UK order was originally shipped using a premium delivery service, in which case this fee will not be deducted. If an item is returned in unsuitable condition, we reserve the right to send it back at your expense.


International Returns & Exchanges

You have 30 days from the date on which the goods were received to return an item. All international returns are arranged through our Returns Portal.

For the festive period we extend our usual 30-day returns window. All orders placed between 1st November and 24th December can be returned until 24th January.

Please note that international exchanges are not available. If a different item or size is required, a new order will need to be placed. We are working with our carriers to hopefully offer this soon.

EU Returns

For customers in the European Union, where applicable consumer law gives you a right to cancel, the refundable delivery amount on a full return is limited to the delivery portion of your order.

As our international delivery charges may include duties and taxes paid to local customs authorities on your behalf, these elements are not refundable by British Attire. The recipient is treated as the importer of record and, where local rules allow, any claim for duties or taxes paid must be made directly with the relevant customs authority.

Rest of World Returns

For orders shipped outside of the UK and EU, delivery charges are non-refundable. Any applicable return fee will also be deducted from your refund.

Duties & taxes on international orders:
Where duties and taxes are paid at checkout, these charges are paid to local customs authorities on behalf of the recipient as the importer of record. If an item is returned, any duties or taxes already paid are not refundable by us or our carriers. In some countries, customers may be able to apply directly to their local customs authority for a refund, subject to local regulations and time limits.

How to return (International)

  1. Repackage your items securely. Make sure all tags and packaging are intact.
  2. Start your return through our Returns Portal and follow the steps.
  3. Choose your return method. You can:
    • Use our carrier service for £21.95 (this will be deducted from your refund), or
    • Use your own courier, provided you obtain proof of shipping.

Always include your order number inside or on your parcel — this helps us process your return as quickly as possible.

Returns are normally processed within 10 working days of arrival at our warehouse. Please note that processing may take longer during busy gifting periods such as January.

Refunds are made to the original payment method, less any applicable return fee and any non-refundable duties or taxes paid to customs authorities on your behalf. If an item is returned in unsuitable condition, we reserve the right to send it back at your expense. A refund confirmation email will be sent once your return has been processed.


Faulty, Damaged or Defective Items

All products purchased from British Attire carry the full manufacturer warranty.

Special circumstance: If the manufacturer is no longer in business, British Attire will review your warranty claim and at our discretion provide a fair solution. All warranty claims may only be made by the purchaser on record.

If your product is faulty, damaged or defective, please start your request through our Returns & Exchanges Portal . You will be able to upload photos and details of the issue along with your order number, and our team will advise the best way to proceed.
